DAILY INSPIRATION: STYLING & NETWORKING!

Since I recently graduated college, I have dedicated most of my time to pursuing a full-time career in Wardrobe Styling. Moving back home to Virginia Beach, I had to reconnect and network with locals. With less than a month, I was able to network with a lot of individuals within the fashion industry. I feel very blessed that God has put talented individuals in my path to work with and learn from. This past weekend I got a chance to work with great artists, including models, photographers, and makeup artists. I created my Spring/Summer 2014 lookbook and styled a urban street shoot.

My Spring/Summer lookbook was created to resemble the stylish beach girl, who isn’t afraid to take risks in fashion. Whether she’s walking the board walk with her girls or spending a night evening with her lover, she remains in style. Each look has been translated through pieces from H&M.

You can get these looks at your local H&M. To view the rest of the shoots, you can visit my portfolio at Vogue Binge Styles!

The secret to networking is to be shameless and put yourself out there. Don’t be afraid to share your craft with others and be confident in what you do. You can attend networking events, local organizations/clubs, and even online networking sites. I believe online is a great way because it allows you to reach people outside of state and surrounding cities of where you live. In connecting with others in the industry, I used a site called Model Mayhem. Model Mayhem is a great site for upcoming and established, designers, photographers, models, stylists, and makeup artists. It’s the best way to connect locally and establish relationships within the fashion industry. If you’re interested in pursuing a career of any of those positions, I think you should sign up today!

There are so many opportunities and resources in front of you, you just have to take advantage of them. Stay focused and work towards you dreams!
